The 2010 season begins on May 13!

The group meets Thursdays at the Catasauqua Park & Playground starting at 7:00pm.

The volleyball season lasts from May until mid October, depending on weather conditions.

The volleyball group, also known as The Velvet Spikers, welcomes people of all skills and abilities. In order to accommodate the beginner as well as the advanced player, we try to strike a balance and play at an intermediate level. This means that we stick to the rules and bump-set-spike strategies of the game as much as possible, while recognizing that people need to play within their own abilities. We also offer tips and practice sessions which all players can take advantage of to improve their playing ability.

Throughout the years the volleyball group has participated several times in the Gay and Lesbian Switchboard of Harrisburg's benefit volleyball tournament. We also have the opportunity to participate in local leagues and NAGVA tournaments. As you may have noticed, we do not have a location for play in the wintertime. If you have any information on a location we could use during the winter months, we would greatly appreciate hearing about it.
