On Sunday, November 5th at 1:30 pm, Garden State Equality is hosting a
wonderful deluxe brunch, free of charge, at the East Brunswick Hilton,
Three Tower Center Boulevard. This brunch, in which Garden State
Equality will salute New Jersey's PFLAG chapters, is to further the
involvement of LGBTI New Jerseyans' family members and other loved
ones in our fight for equality.
Many of you have told us that your parents, grandparents, kids,
grandkids, siblings, aunts, uncles or dear friends and neighbors would
love to get more involved in our fight for marriage equality and other
LGBTI rights. This brunch is a great opportunity.

Indeed, the success of any civil rights movement depends on decision
makers' understanding that those who want equality for a particular
community go far beyond that community.

Sometimes politicians don't listen to the 10 to 15 percent of us in
New Jersey who are LGBTI, though in New Jersey they usually do. But
let's face it: Any politician is more likely to listen to the 80
percent of us in New Jersey who, according to a 2006 Garden State
Equality poll, personally know someone LGBTI. It's hard to tell 80
percent of the population to bug off.

That's why Garden State Equality has been obsessed with making sure
we're a true united force of LGBTI and straight New Jerseyans. We
estimate that about 40 percent of our supporters are straight. We
believe the cross-section of New Jerseyans we represent has been key
to our organization's and community's influence in Trenton.

So please come, and bring a relative or other loved one with you, to
Garden State Equality's brunch on Sunday, November 5th at 1:30 pm at
the East Brunswick Hilton, Three Tower Center Boulevard.

Our keynote speaker will be one of America's most extraordinary
leaders, the Rt. Rev. John Palmer Croneberger, Bishop of the Episcopal
Diocese of Newark. He's the proud dad of a gay son and a gay
daughter. Your relatives and dear friends will come away moved and
inspired.

No RSVP is necessary for this brunch -- and again, it's free of charge.

Best,
